CHS Band Weekly Update 9/24/24

Good Evening Band Family

I hope all is well. Sorry for the delay in getting the weekly update out to everybody. I had a busy weekend. That being said, there was a major development today so maybe it is for the better. 

Thursday Night Game

• Due to the threat of rain on Friday the football game has been moved to Thursday. 

• We will have rehearsal after school Thursday from 4-5:30, break for dinner at 5:30, and go to the game at 6:30.

• If it looks like or is raining on Thursday then we may cancel the band’s participation in the football game as late as 6pm Thursday.

Star City Competition

• The itinerary is posted to our website cvillebands.com

• The competition is cash only and we will be eating dinner at the stadium

• The competition host plan to make a decision about the weather viability Friday night.  

The CHS Band is Nashville bound!

• The CHS band will be performing and competing in the Heritage Festivals in Nashville this March. More details to follow, but we are estimating the cost to be around $800.

UVA v BC Seat Sales

• The next UVA football game where  you can sell seats and earn money for that Nashville trip is Saturday October 5th. 

• This is the same day as the Cavalcade so we will only be there through the 1st quarter and we will clean up on Monday. 

• You can sign-up here. The sign-up genius has both the Saturday for selling and the Monday for cleaning up. 

CAVALCADE

• The Cavalcade is less than 2 weeks away and we still have a lot of parent volunteer slots left to fill. 

• Please consider signing up here and helping out. 

• Students will also have an opportunity to sign up at school. 

• An itinerary for the marching band will be released over the weekend.
