The CHS band program provides a robust education for solo and group performance. The Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and other small groups play at various school, local, and state events. With support from our parents, community, and administration, director Jason Hackworth leads, teaches, and mentors students to reach their fullest potential as individuals and as musicians. Many students earn spots in district and all-Virginia bands, win scholarships, and go on to explore careers in music.
Our Goal
All of these perform throughout the year at various school, local, and state events. With support from our parents, community, and administration, the Charlottesville High School band program aims to focus on quality music making while instilling a life-long appreciation for music and the arts.
