CHS Band Weekly Update 9/15/24

Good Afternoon Band Family!

We are just two weeks away from our first marching band competition and three weeks from our very own Cavalcade marching competition which means that the band is in full swing right now. This is when we really need parents and student support. 

UVA Seat Clean-Up

• We will be back in Scott Stadium tomorrow from 4:30-6:30 cleaning up from the game late last night

• Sign-up here and meet me at the West Gate. If I’m not there, it means I’m already clearing seats, probably in the upper deck. 

• Time spent helping will earn money in your ledger

Cavalcade Meeting

• We have our first meeting for the 34th Cavalcade this Wednesday at 7pm in the band room.

• The Cavalcade is a marching band competition that we host, and it is an all hands on deck style event. 

• We try to spread out the workload so nobody has to do everything, but everybody should be doing something to make this a huge success. 

Upcoming performances/rehearsals

• The band has a football game this Friday night. It's also 8th grade night. The full show is on the field and we’ve been working hard to get as many bells and whistles added to the show as possible. 

• Saturday morning rehearsal 8-11am

• Friday night football game next week as well 9/27

• Our first competition the Star City Classic on 9/28

  • We will need parent volunteers to help with this event
